Add 2 SuperSpeed USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) ports to your PCI Express compatible PC

The PCI Express USB 3.2 Gen 1 2 Port Card PEXUSB3S25 allows you to add two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports to any PCI Express compatible computer system, with an optional LP4 power connector to plug into your system's power supply to provide up to 900 mA per port for USB 3.2 Gen 1 bus-powered devices (500 mA for USB 2.0).

Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.2 Gen 1 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.2 Gen 1 port when paired with a UASP-supported enclosure (Note: UASP is not supported by all operating systems). Using a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP optimizes transfer by allowing simultaneous processing of multiple commands, significantly increasing transfer speeds. The PCI-E USB 3.2 Gen 1 adapter complies with USB 3.2 Gen 1 standards for transfer speeds of up to 5 Gb/s, while being backward compatible with existing USB 2.0/1.1 devices. For added versatility, the controller card comes with a standard height bracket and includes a low-profile/half-height bracket for compact computers.

Improved performance with UASP

UASP is supported by Windows® 8, Server 2012, and Linux kernel 2.6.3 or later. Tests show that UASP support provides read speeds up to 70% higher and write speeds up to 40% higher than the maximum capability of traditional USB 3.2 Gen 1.

Under the same conditions, UASP shows up to 80% reduction in CPU resource requirements.

The test was conducted with an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, StarTech.com USB 3.2 Gen 1 controller cards, a StarTech.com enclosure with UASP, and a SATA III SSD.
