PFU Clear Image Capture
PFU Clear Image Capture is an innovative proprietary technology and is now available on the Ricoh fi-8000 series. The faithful image rendering and color shift prevention enable OCR accuracy rates and image quality that exceed the capabilities of standard CIS or CCD. Additionally, thanks to the efficiency of this technology, energy consumption is reduced with each scan. PFU Clear Image Capture also allows for capturing a wide range of document types from 20 to 465 g/m², including A4 envelopes, cards, passports, or booklets up to 7 mm thick.

Automatic Separation Control
Our patented automatic separation control ensures a smooth throughput, allowing organizations to confidently scan large volumes of documents and mixed document batches. By detecting the weight of documents, automatically adapting and adjusting to the format, feeding errors and scanning interruptions are eliminated. This guarantees stable feeding even with heterogeneous documents and saves users time sorting them. The automatic document feeder (ADF), with its 100-sheet capacity and increased speed, provides collaborators with more efficient high-speed scanning.

Industry-Leading Paper Protection
The Ricoh fi-8000 series protects documents from damage through innovative technology. The patented Image Monitoring function identifies overly tilted documents in real-time and interrupts the scanning process before they can be damaged. The Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection technology does the same if it detects abnormal feeding noises (except for the fi-8150 and fi-8250 models). The lag detection function ensures that documents feed at the expected speed.

Enhanced Multi-Feed Detection
Unnecessary stops in the scanning process are eliminated by automatically recognizing and ignoring laminated cards, labels, and predefined small attachments. This patented technology is an evolution over standard multi-feed detection that stops when anything exceeding a single sheet is identified during feeding.

High Speed, High Throughput
With a fast startup time and a scanning speed of 90 ppm in duplex, the Ricoh fi-8000 series offers a highly efficient scanning process for optimal productivity in workgroups. The integration of USB 3.2 and gigabit LAN connectivity also allows for fast file transfers.

Overscan Control*
Automatic adjustment of the scanning area to avoid image loss on skewed documents, thus eliminating the need for rescanning. Three precisely positioned sensors detect the edges of the document and adjust the scanning area accordingly to fit the document, even if it has been inserted at an angle. Users can scan confidently, knowing that the entire document will be scanned every time and that no part of the image will ever be lost. *Except for the fi-8150 and fi-8250 models.

Polyurethane Rollers
Polyurethane rollers resist oil absorption from carbonless paper, unlike EPDM rubber rollers which can swell and affect feeding. Maintaining polyurethane rollers helps avoid feeding errors and jams for consistent feeding.

Output Tray
The ergonomic stacking support of the output tray cleanly ejects scanned documents for faster and easier post-scanning sorting.
