Allows you to add 4 external USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) ports to a compact or standard computer via PCI Express

The PCI Express USB 3.2 Gen 1 PEXUSB3S4V card (with SATA power) adds 4 external USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports to any PCI Express compatible computer with support for transfer speeds of up to 5 Gb/s, while being backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.x devices.

Enhanced with UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol), this USB 3.2 Gen 1 controller is 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.2 Gen 1 port when paired with a UASP-supported enclosure (Note: UASP requires a compatible operating system). Using a more efficient protocol than traditional USB BOT (Bulk-Only Transport), UASP optimizes transfer by allowing simultaneous processing of multiple commands, significantly increasing transfer speeds. The card uses a vertical port configuration, allowing all four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports to be front-facing, while facilitating installation in a compact/low-profile computer thanks to the included low-profile bracket.

Additionally, with an integrated SATA power connector, each USB port can provide up to 900 mA to bus-powered devices (500 mA for USB 2.0) when connected to your computer's power supply.

Improved performance with UASP

UASP is supported under Windows® 8 and Server 2012. In testing, UASP operated with read and write speeds that were 70% and 40% faster respectively than traditional USB 3.2 Gen 1 technology at its peak performance.

Under the same conditions, UASP shows up to 80% reduction in CPU resource demands.

The test was conducted with an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, additional StarTech.com USB 3.2 Gen 1 cards, a StarTech.com enclosure with UASP, and a SATA III solid-state drive.
